Photo Project

Day 15. I am grateful that I was able to participate in a neighborhood photo project.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, I received an email from the community outreach manager of the Layton Boulevard West Neighborhood group, looking for volunteers (I wasn't the only one who got the email) to take pictures of Layton Boulevard. I thought it would be a fun way to get involved in the neighborhood, so I volunteered.

On a couple different days in December, I drove and walked up and down Layton Boulevard, taking pictures. Because it was so cold, there wasn't a whole lot going on outside, but I got a lot of decent shots of the houses, as well as a few pictures of people. Now, I am no Mo Schultz or Julie Collins or any other awesome photographer, but it was a fun activity.

I was also asked to do a little write up, describing my experience living in the LBWN. Some of the photos I took and the write up were published today on the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service website. Basically, totally meaningless, but still a little exciting for me. Haha

If you're interested in checking it out, go to http://milwaukeenns.org/category/neighborhoods/south/layton-boulevard-west/

and let me know what you think!

P.S. The fact that they spelled my name incorrectly makes me cringe. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but the h is very important. Ah well. I'll get over it.
