Artwork

I think art, in all of its forms, is often overlooked by Christians. We might pick apart the lyrics of a song, without hearing the beautiful melody. Or maybe we won't notice the exquisite beauty of a dancer's arabesque, because we're too busy looking at her outfit. Perhaps we can appreciate a painting on a canvas in an art museum, but not see the same talent when it's in the form of a tattoo.

Speaking of tattoos, I always knew that I wanted one that would represent my children, but I couldn't think of anything that I really liked. Then, several weeks ago, I finally came up with a vision. I had an idea, but I needed a true artist to bring it to fruition. With the recommendation of my dear friend, Mo, I contacted a tattoo artist named Josh who turned the image in my mind into a beautiful piece of artwork.

And that artwork is now displayed on my arm.

And in case you were wondering what you are looking at: the blue flowers on top are irises. They are the flower of the month of February, which is Deuce's birth month. The purplish flowers on the outside of my arm are gladioli (plural for gladiolus), the flower of the month of August, Josie's birth month. The orange flowers on the inside of my arm are daffodils, which are Margo's birth month (March) flower. And the daisies on the bottom are the flower of the month of April, Piper's birth month.

I absolutely love the colors and the artistic talent that went into the watercolor technique. I am very very pleased with the outcome. What do you think?
