This is my Life

As I sit here typing this blog post, there are toys on the floor of nearly every room, dirty dishes in the sink, a dirt pile that needs to be swept up, and loads and loads of laundry that need to be washed/dried/folded/put away. Meanwhile, my kids are playing, laughing, coloring, jumping, reading. There is a pot of water on the stove, boiling water for macaroni and cheese.

Oh wait, now one of the kids is pooping.

Wipe. Wash hands. Add macaroni to the boiling water.

Take a breath and enjoy this moment. No one is crying or fighting or screaming or complaining.

Josie, my oldest is coloring a paper plate and nibbling on  piece of bread. She was upset earlier because I wouldn't let her put butter on it.

It truly was just a moment. Deuce, my son, and Margo, my second daughter, are now fighting over a plastic bin. Earlier, they were fighting over a dish towel.

I should check the macaroni. I hate when I overcook it.

Baby Piper is still napping. She's been sleeping for a while. She's wearing a cloth diaper, which can only mean one thing: I'll have to wash her bassinet sheet since she'll be soaked with pee.

Everyone is sitting down for lunch. Macaroni n cheese and hot dogs and carrots. Next time you make mac n cheese, make sure you use half and half instead of milk. We don't mess around with that skim milk nonsense.

This is my life. It's messy and chaotic at times. Okay, who am I kidding? My life is never completely clean and orderly. With four children six and under, I'd be crazy to think I could keep it all together, right?

I love this life... And I'm doing my best to make the most of everyday!

And I do mean EVERYDAY. There's always something in which to be grateful, something in which to find joy. The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences as a wife and mom of four little ones, while being diligent to see the beauty and the blessings in my life each and everyday.
