About Me
A Little Background
I grew up in rural Ohio in a little town called Minster. I have an older sister, an older brother, and a younger sister. I had a really good childhood. Plenty of friends and cousins, a safe neighborhood, and an active imagination made for lots of great memories.
After I graduated high school, I moved to Wisconsin with my parents due to a job change. The following fall, I moved out to Southern California to go to college. While I enjoyed the west coast, my school, and all the wonderful friends I met, it just wasn't the Midwest. I stayed three years before transferring to Marquette. Since 2001, I have lived in Port Washington, St. Francis, Thiensville, Cudahy, and Milwaukee proper.
My Family
The story of how my husband, Justin and I met deserves its own blog post. It is one of my favorite stories to tell. In short, we met in late summer 2006 and got married on March 17, 2007. Our four kids - Josie (2008), Justin II aka Deuce (2010), Margo (2012) and Piper (2014) were all born at home in our little house in Cudahy. In late 2014, we moved to a bigger house in Milwaukee, which I hope is our forever home. I've spent the last 10 years as a stay-at-home-mom while Justin has worked to provide for our family. We also have two dogs - Carmen and Fiona.

A Little More
It's been said that I tend to overthink things. (I prefer "thoughtful.") When I wake up in the morning, I am 100% more likely to think about coffee and food than exercising. I hate cantaloupe and mushrooms. I love Jesus. I am really good at holding conversations, but can't seem to stay on the same topic for very long. I am in the process of teaching myself German. I long for adventure, but I can't afford to travel the world. So, I'm going to be a tourist in my own city. I'm going to explore and experience and learn to truly appreciate Milwaukee.
