Ireland in Retrospect: Conor Pass and Dingle
Conor Pass and Dingle September 22
For those not familiar with it, Conor Pass, it is basically a beautiful, and potentially hazardous mountain road. The roads are twisty, and part of it is only one lane, so you need to be extra careful. Here's a pic that I found that gives a pretty good idea of what the road looks like.
The weather was fantastic, the roads were good, and the traffic was relatively light. I admit that I wasn't 100% comfortable, so I preferred looking straight ahead more than looking out and down. Haha. It was a little easier when we pulled off into the two different lookout spots to take pics. Here are the shots I got.
From Conor Pass, we drove past our our next bed and breakfast, which is located at the end of Conor Pass, and then into Dingle town, arriving around lunchtime. We walked around a bit, and soon stopped in John Benney's for lunch. We sat at the bar and each got fish and chips. The fish was decent, but not as amazing as I would've expected for a seaside town.
Justin and I had a delicious breakfast this morning. He had poached eggs, and I had pancakes. We didn't stay long, because we were anxious to drive Conor Pass, and get to Dingle.

The service was definitely lacking here though. The weirdest part was how the bartender kept putting dirty glassware on the bar in front of me. The overall vibe of the place just wasn't great. Afterward, we found Murphy's ice cream, which I've read is the best ice cream in Ireland. It was really good of course!
We did a little shopping after that. We had intended on finding a wedding gift for Ryan and Alana at Dingle Crystal, but the store was closed until 2:30. So we checked out a couple other stores. We ended up buying some items at a pottery store instead for them. We also bought leather necklaces for each of the kids at a leather store.
I admit that I didn't love Dingle. It didn't feel as charming as it looked. I can't quite put my finger on why. Anyway, we went back to the B&B for some afternoon relaxing. Plus, Justin had a bit of a headache that he was hoping to sleep off. I spent a few hours catching up in my journal (you know, the one that I lost) and writing TripAdvisor reviews.
I finally convinced Justin at around 8 to go back into town with me for some pizza. We went to The Blue Zone, which got pretty good reviews online. I thought the pizza was delicious! Unfortunately I didn't take any pics to tempt you.
Tomorrow we are driving Slea Head Loop!
